The Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) is a modular platform that is capable of handling multiple roles. One of the strengths of the ASA series is it's adaptability and it's ability to act as an all-in-one solution reducing TCO as well as simplifying configuration and management.

The Cisco ASA line comes in different configurations as of this writing:

Cisco ASA 5505 (Fixed configuration)

Cisco ASA 5510 (Modular)

Cisco ASA 5520 (Modular)
