[edit] UPDATES

The CCNA will be changing August 15, 2007. There will still be the option of taking two exams, or the single exam. The last day to take the old CCNA exam(s) is November 6, 2007

The new CCNA is achieved as such:

[640-822 ICND1] + [640-816 ICND2]

or

[640-802 CCNA]

Passing the ICND1 exam alone will earn you the CCENT certification. Passing the ICND1+ICND2 exams or the CCNA exam will earn you the CCNA certification.

The new CCENT/CCNA books will be released August 31, 2007. Please see [CiscoPress.com/CCNA] for details.

[edit] Test Numbers

There are currently two ways to obtain your CCNA. One options is to take two seperate tests or you can take a composite test which incorporates both tests together.

It is arguable to which one is easier and it really depends on your background, study ability, timeline and personal preference.

[640-801 CCNA]

or

[640-821 INTRO] - Introduction to Cisco Networking Technologies (INTRO)

and

[640-811 ICND] - Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices (ICND)
